In 1955 David Hayes caught what would be the standing smallmouth bass world record for the next 60+ years. Although there is some controversy around this fish, it is universally recognized as the heaviest smallmouth bass ever at 11 lbs 15 oz. In an effort to pay homage to not only this fish, but the body of water that produced this behemoth, we are introducing the first of the Achigan Legendary Waters Collection. Situated on the KY/TN border, Dale Hollow reservoir is one of the most hallowed bodies of water where smallmouth roam. It is also the only body of water that can claim to have produced a smallmouth over 11 lbs. This is why it's been given the nickname of The Smallmouth Bass Capital of the World.
